Romeo and Juliet – Theatrical Production at Circle In The Square Theatre

It's finally Christmas season and there is no better gift than Broadway's hottest tickets. This December, celebrate the holidays with a dark twist in a Sam Gold's Gen Z-flavored production of Shakespeare's popular Romeo + Juliet. Kit Connor of Heartstopper and Rachel Zegler of Spielberg's West Side Story will bring the doomed couple to life---be haste and get thee to the theater to watch the two stars at the Circle In The Square Theater on 10th of December!

For two hours and 25 minutes with one intermission, theater goers will experience one of the best tragedies once more. It's the same story: Montagues and Capulets. Love leading to loss, with grace almost out of reach. This time around, with the magic of Tony Award-winning director Sam Gold, Romeo + Juliet transforms into an aggressively Gen Z conception in a night club set with inflatable furniture, shopping cart filled with teddy bears. Enver Chakartash, the play's costumer, dresses up the cast in track pants, crop tops and jeans.

Grammy winner and pop hitmaker Jack Antonoff is also setting the stage ablaze with three fresh original tracks just for this production, including "Man of the House," a distinctly Antonoff sound with swooning ballad, somber keys and atmospheric flourishes. Tony Award-winner Sonya Tayeh is also bringing her dynamic choreography on the set. She draws in teenage angst, her own roots in club culture and infused the movement with a touch of modern and intense energy.

In the middle of the spotlight is Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler as Romeo and Juliet. Screen International Star of Tomorrow actor Kit Connor has landed several roles in different films and shows since he was eight, including The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2019), Rocketman (2019) and the lead role in the global hit TV adaptation of Alice Oseman's Heartstopper. Meanwhile, Golden Globe Award winner Rachel Zegler has starred in West Side Story, Disney's Snow White live action, and Shazam! Together, they will lend their extraordinary vocal abilities, charisma and wild on-stage chemistry that will make anyone melt.
