The iconic Shakespearean tragedy has evolved this 2024, with antiquated words in a story that's ever so classic and ever so timeless, brutally sliced with a modern edge.

For twenty weeks, the tale of star-crossed lovers will dominate the Broadway production at the Circle in The Square, New York. Dates are selling out to the Tony Award-winning director Sam Gold's adaptation of Romeo + Juliet, featuring West Side Story breakout Rachel Zegler and Heartstopper's Kit Connor in their Broadway debut. Gasp at the endless surprises in their upcoming Tuesday performance on October 15th.

Experience the 16th-century text placed into the present day, colliding with the themes of ideological division, complete with voter registration partnerships. Archaic words in a modern intonation by casts wearing modern clothing. Abundant humor from the text with a Gen Z flair. Gorgeously queer and fresh. Thine eyes do not deceive you. It's a Romeo + Juliet, as "you've never quite seen it before, exposed bra straps and all."

In an interview, Zegler stated, "This play is about generational trauma and the world we leave behind for our children...And as someone who used to be the next generation and is now the generation, I cannot emphasize enough, as an American citizen, the importance of exercising your right to vote."

The bard of the modern generation, Jack Antonoff has also created original scores for the play, including solos for Screen International Star of Tomorrow actor Kit Connor, who is playing as Romeo and the trailblazer actress and singer of her generation, Rachel Zegler, playing as Juliet.
